China is a country on the Asian continent sited in the East. Beijing is the capital city of the country, China. The geographical coordinates puts the place at 350 N and 1030 E. China spans over an area of 9,706,961 km2.

 

History of China:  

The oldest civilization dates back to 100 BC with the existence of Xia dynasty in the country. In the year 1046 B.C, the Shang dynasty ruled China. The culture and other aspects of China came into existence during the 8th century under the reign of the Zhou dynasty. Later the Qin dynasty ruled the entire country stretching to Tibet regions. The statues of warriors and horses and chariots were discovered by Chinese archeologists in the 20th century. The site where these statues laid buried spans over 1.5 km. These statues were created under the first Emperor, Qin Shi Huang’s reign during the 246 B.C.

 

Yangtze River:

This is the longest river in China country, and the third longest on the entire planet. It flows at a length of 3,965 km. The starting point of the river is located at Tanggula Range located towards the west of the country and meets the China Sea at the east.

 

Forbidden City:

This city is located at the center of the China country. Development of this city began in the year 1368, under the then Emperor Chengzu of the Ming dynasty. It took 14 long years in the making of the Forbidden City also known as ‘The Purple Forbidden City’ or locally termed as Gu Gong. For 24 years it was the imperial palace under the Ming and Qing dynasty.

 

Potala Palace:

This Palace leis on the highest point in central Lhasa on a Red Hill and is the oldest ancient palace on the entire planet.
