San Carlos is the 10th Canton in the Alajuela Province in Costa Rica. San Carlos is the largest Canton in the country covering an area of 3,347.98 square kilometers (1,292.66 square miles) and identified for active volcano in the world. San Carlos is subdivided into 13 districts and the Canton was established in the year 1911. Capital of San Carlos is Ciudad Quesada also known as San Carlos, the city is an economic and political center of the Canton and identified for its agriculture and leather goods and also for tourism attractions. San Carlos is surrounded by Upala, Alajuela City, Canas, Rio Segundo, Naranjo de Alajuela and Fortuna and located at the distance of 130 kilometers from the capital of Costa Rica, San Jose and coordinates are 10.3236° N, 84.4269° W.
