History of Greenland:
Greenland was inhabited by Paleo-Eskimo culture dating back to 2500 BC to 800 BC and the southern and western part of Greenland was inhabited by Saqqaq culture and Saqqaq culture was vanished during 800 BC and Dorset culture emerged in Western Greenland and Thule culture was established in the country around 1000 AD to 1300 AD and Thules were the first to introduce innovations like dog sleds and toggling harpoons.
Norse settled in the country during 986 AD on fjords near south western tip of the island and in 1380, kingdom of Norway entered to a personal union with Denmark and was the part of Kalmar Union from 1397 and between the 14th to 15th centuries, island settlement vanished and from 1500 to 1814, several kingdoms tried to settle on the island but due to the weather conditions it was not possible.
Norway and Demark wanted the island and they raised the issue in the Permanent Court of International Justice in the year 1933 but the order was in the favor of Denmark due to the connection to with Greenland but in the year 1941, United States captured the country in order to defend the attack from the Germany and U.S captured the country and ruled until the year 1945. After the World War II, Greenland came under the rule of Danish Government.
