Jeremie is a city and the capital of the Grand Anse Department in Haiti located in the southwest part of the country. Jeremie was established in the year 1756 during the French rule in the country and isolated city surrounded by mountainous regions. Trading is the main economy of the city and bananas are exported to other countries from the port of Jeremie and city is also renowned as City of Poets due to lots of writers and poets.

Jeremie is surrounded by Anse D’asure, Bonbon, Abricots, Roseaux and The Moron and situated at the distance of 300 kilometers from the capital of Haiti, Port-au-Prince and coordinates are 18.6500° N, 74.1167° W.

Marfrac Fort:

Marfrac Fort was constructed after the independence of the country in the year 1804 to protect the city is one of the major landmarks of the city.

 

Saint Louis Church:

Saint Louis Church is situated at the distance of 1 kilometer from the center of the city and the church was constructed during the 19th century by France. Saint Louis Church is the oldest church in the city.

 

Anse-d’Azur’ Beach:

Anse-d’Azur’ Beach is situated at the distance of 4 kilometers from Jeremie city and beach has white sand with crystal clear water and located behind the coconut tree.

 

L’Habitation Latiboliere:

L’Habitation Latiboliere is the place where the great French writer the General Thomas-Alexandre Dumas was born and the place is surrounded by farm.
