Treasure Beach comprises of four Jamaican coves by name Billy’s Bay, Frenchman’s Bay, Calabash Bay and Great Pedro Bay. Treasure Beach is one of the mainly negligent places in all of Jamaica has resisted the progress of mass tourism and has fruitfully retained the charm of being a sleepy fishing village.

Treasure Beach is surrounded by Southfield, Malvern, Black River, Alligator Pond, Starve Gut Bay and Cutlass Bay and located at the distance of 140 kilometers from Kingston, the capital of Jamaica. History of Treasure Beach:

Taino Indians were the first to populate in Treasure Beach. It is thought that a large number of Tainos settled along the Treasure Beach and great numerous artifacts from the era have been found. After the Spanish settlement in the region native Taino people died due to diseases spread by them and later beach became popular among the pirates.

Fort Charles Bay:

Fort Charles Bay is one of the most visited bays by local tourists situated 12 miles from Black River town and the beach is 11 miles long and best for swimming.

Frenchman’s Bay:

Frenchman’s Bay is developing bays and beach is renowned for its crystal clear water and white sand. There are few restaurants and a few hotels on the beach.

 

Calabash Bay:

Calabash Bay is a 600 meters long beach has a thin strip of black and yellow-red sand and best place to swim and along the beach few restaurants and hotels are sited.

 

Great Pedro Bay:

Great Pedro Bay is the last bay on the Treasure Beach is filled with local tourists visiting every weekend and on public holidays.

Treasure Beach is served by tropical monsoon climate with a short dry season to the rest of the country and the climate is sunny throughout the year. Best time to visit Treasure Beach is from December to March.

By Air:

The nearest airport to Treasure Beach is Marlboro Airport located at the distance of 44 kilometers in Manchester serves the domestic flights to Kingston daily. From airport tourists can board the buses to reach many destinations in Treasure Beach.

By Sea:

Black River Port is the major port situated at the distance of 24 kilometers from Treasure Beach in Black River town caters with national and international cruise ships and commercial ships as well.

 

By Road:
