Johor Bahru is the capital city of state of Johor in Malaysia covering a total area of 185 sq kms and is one of the densely populated cities in Malaysia. Johor Bahru History:

Johor Bahru was formerly established in the year 1855 when the ruler of Johor Temenggong Daeng Ibrahim, established his headquarters in this city. Initially Johor Bahru was called as Tanjung Puteri which mainly consisted of tiny fishing villages. But in the year 1858, the ruler of Johar renamed Tanjung Puteri to Johor Bahru and from then onwards it is being called as same name till date. Johor Bahru developed rapidly under the rule of Sultan Ibrahims reign where many buildings, causeway and railway lines were built and opened during this phase. Johor Bahru was captured by Japanese army in 1942 but later withdrew from the region. Johor Bahru gained more status and prominence during 70’s and 80’s where many new townships and industrial estates came into existence.
