Ndola is the capital city of the Copperbelt Province in Zambia geographically positioned at 12°58′ S 28°38′ E. It is the 3rd largest city as well as the commercial centre of Zambia. Located around 10 km from the Zambia-DR Congo border, Ndola is the city leading to the mineral producing region of the nation, situated around 320 km north of the national capital, Lusaka.

History of Ndola:

The history of Ndola goes back to 1904 when it was founded by John Edward “Chiripula” Stephenson during the British colonial rule. Ndola geared up towards development with the expansion of Rhodesia Railways line to the town in 1907, making it the distribution centre of Zambia.

 

How to reach Ndola?

Ndola hosts one of the three international airports of Zambia (other two are Living stone and Lusaka airports), with scheduled flight services from/to Addis Ababa, Johannesburg, Nairobi, Kasama, Lusaka, Mansa and Solwezi. The distance of 3 km from the airport to the city centre can easily be crossed by taxi or minibus or rental car.
