Kakata is a city and the administrative centre of the Margibi County in the African country Liberia, between 6°31′48″ N latitude and 10°21′6″ W longitude. It falls under Kakata District, is situated around 70 km northeast of Monrovia, the capital of Liberia. Kakata is relatively a commercial town with all basic and upgraded facilities, including a large market and a hospital, C. H. Rennie Hospital.

Kakata has an agriculture based economy, surrounded by over hundred acres of rubber plantations. The renowned Booker Washington Institute is one of the prime educational institution as well as identity of Kakata. Apart from Washington Institute, Kakata also houses many noted educational institutions, including E. J. Yancy and KRTTI Demonstration School.

Due to its nearness with the national capital, Monrovia, reaching Kakata would not be a difficult task for visitors. The Roberts International Airport, primary airport of Liberia, is situated around 35 km south of Kakata.
