Havana is the capital city of Cuba lies on the North Coast of Cuba. Havana is surrounded by mountain region and other side by Coast, spans an area of 281.18 square miles (728.26 square kilometers) with an average elevation of 194 feet (59 meters) above the sea level. The economy of the city depends on traditional sectors like manufacturing, construction, transportation, tourism and communication. Havana is surrounded by Bahia Honda, Artemisa, La Habana Del Este, Guines, Matanzas, San Cristobal and Madruga. Coordinates of Havana are 23.1333° N, 82.3833° W.


History of Havana:

Havana was populated by indigenous peoples and in the year 1514, Conquistador Diego Velázquez de Cuellar founded the Havana. Columbus established the region during the 15th century where Spanish colonies established but indigenous people were vanished from the region. The Spanish ruled the Cuba during 16th and 17th centuries which acted as a hub of commerce among the Europe and the New World. During 18th century major developments in Havana occurred. The Spanish began to construct buildings and develop the natural resources in the region. The Cuban Revolution was started in the 19th century which ended the Spanish rule in the country.

El Templete:
