History of Gajraula

In 479 B.C, Gajraula was under the control of Raja Amarjoda who ruled Amroha region. From 676 to 1141A.D the Rajputs of Meewar had Gajraula under their control. In 1093 A.D Mohamud of Ghazni invaded Amroha  and Gajraula fell into his hands. During the year 1240 to 1242 Gajraula was under the administration of Jalaluddin Khalji who was appointed as Hakim. Fierce battles were fought during the rule of Jalaluddin Khalji against many invaders. Many monuments were built around Gajraula in the 1642A.D. Gajraula had witnessed the rule of the Delhi Sultanate and later the Mughals. After the fall of the Mughals the British East India Company took Gajraula under their control. They created various establishments around Gajraula. Many historic events took place in the history of National freedom struggle. Their rule ended in the year 1947, when India achieved Independence after a prolonged freedom struggle.

History of Fatehpur Sikri

Fatehpur Sikri once served the capital of the Mughal Empire from 1571 to 1586. The city was under the reign of India’s greatest Mughal Empire Akbar. After conquering Chittor and Ranthambore, the emperor decided to make Fatehpur Sikri his capital. It took him 15 years to build a fortified palace with courts, mosque and various other utilities within the boundaries of the palace. The word Fatehabad is derived from the Persian language meaning ‘Victory’. The emperor saw to it that most of the complex structural and design works were based on Persian principles. The city, Fatehpur Sikri happens to be one of the best architectural works planned and designed by the Mughals in India.

However in 1585, Fatehpur Sikri was abandoned because of scarcity of water. Also the region shared its borders with the kingdoms of Rajputs.

This beautiful complex now wears a deserted look almost resembling that of a ghost town. However the Sikri village still exists with life prevailing in a better way.

History of Falakata

Falakata was once a trading center.
