Fatehpur Sikri city is located in the Agra district of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The city was founded in the 16th century by the great Mughal Emperor, Akbar. History of Fatehpur Sikri

Fatehpur Sikri once served the capital of the Mughal Empire from 1571 to 1586. The city was under the reign of India’s greatest Mughal Empire Akbar. After conquering Chittor and Ranthambore, the emperor decided to make Fatehpur Sikri his capital. It took him 15 years to build a fortified palace with courts, mosque and various other utilities within the boundaries of the palace. The word Fatehabad is derived from the Persian language meaning ‘Victory’. The emperor saw to it that most of the complex structural and design works were based on Persian principles. The city, Fatehpur Sikri happens to be one of the best architectural works planned and designed by the Mughals in India.

However in 1585, Fatehpur Sikri was abandoned because of scarcity of water. Also the region shared its borders with the kingdoms of Rajputs.

This beautiful complex now wears a deserted look almost resembling that of a ghost town. However the Sikri village still exists with life prevailing in a better way.

History of Falakata

Falakata was once a trading center. Various commercial products and artifacts were traded with the Greeks between the 1st and 2nd century B.C. until the end of 3rd century A.D. along the banks of the Hooghly River. When Bengal was ruled by the Mughal Empire, an individual was appointed at various divisions known as the Mahal. The British East India Company first established their cantonment in the year 1772. History of Faizabad

According to ancient history, Faizabad was known as Saket which happened to be the palace of King Dashrath of the Ramayana era. In the Sanskrit language Saket means Heaven. But in the pre-colonial times, Faizabad became  the first capital of the Nawabs of Awadh. Saadat Khan happened to be the first Nawab to rule Faizabad in 1722. History of Erode

As per historians, in the year 850 A.D, Erode was ruled by the Cara King. From 1000 A.D the place was ruled by the Cholas. Under their reign Dharapuram formed the center of operation of their kingdom. At the end of 1276 A.D the Sultans conquered Dharapuram and established their rule. They were defeated by the Nayaks.
