Atakpame is a city in the region of Plateaux in the African country Togo, situated around 160 km north of the country’s capital and largest city, Lome. In term of population, Atakpame is the 5th largest city of Togo. Atakpame is positioned between 7°31′37″ N latitude and 1°7′36″ E longitude, around 250 meters above sea level. The city of Atakpame has all the basic facilities like shops, hotels, restaurants and health clinic.

 

History of Atakpame:

Atakpame served as the capital of German Togoland for many years that was ended with the British and French occupied the German Togoland during World War I in the year 1914.
