Alushta is a city in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea in Ukraine, situated around 50 km southeast of the regional capital, Simferopol and 850 km southeast of the national capital, Kiev. Alushta is a tourist favorite destination known for its beautiful beaches and a palatial carnival.

Alushta is geographically positioned between 44°40′2″ N latitude and 34°23′52″ E longitude at an elevation of 50 meters, covering an area of 6.983 sq. km.

According to the documented history, Alushta was formed in the 6th century by Emperor Justinian. Alushta was called by the different names in its history, Aluston during the rule of the Byzantine Empire and ‘Lusta’ during the rule of the Genoese.
