Zell am See is the capital city of the Zell am See district in Salzburg State in Austria and consists of five cadastral communities by name Bruckberg, Erlberg, Schmitten and Zell am See. Zell am See spans an area  of 21.30 square miles (55.17 square kilometers at normal elevation of 750 meters (2,460 feet) above the sea level and Zell am See lake is renowned all over the world for its pure drinking water covered by mountains.

History of Zell am See:

Zell am See was inhabited by Romans but Bishop Johannes I of Salzburg monks established the region in the year 740 AD and recognized as the market town in the year 1357. French captured the region in the year 1800, during the Napoleonic War later the city was passed to the Austrian Empire and since the year 1879, several developments occurred in the city.
