Fukuoka is located in Kyushu region is ranked as 12th most livable cities of the world covering an area of 340.03 sq kms. Fukuoka History:

It is said that Fukuoka is one of the ancient cities of Japan which dates back to 663 A.D. In 923 A.D. Hakozaki was founded which was a part of Usa Shrine in Fukuoka. Fukuoka was invaded by Mongols during 1274 A.D. to 1281 A.D. During 1889, Fukuoka was a part of Chikuzen Province until it merged with Hataka to form a new city.
