Dangriga is a town in Belize officially identified as the Stann Creek Town is situated on the Caribbean Coast. Dangriga is the capital of Stann Creek District is one of the largest towns in the southern part of the Belize country. Economy of the town depends on fishing and small scale industries situated in the town and the coordinates of Dangriga are 16.9667° N, 88.2167° W.

 

People, Food and Shopping in Dangriga:

People of the town speak English with mixture of Garinagu, Kriols and Mestizos population and Garifuna is the cultural and ethical group in the town. Garifuna are descendants from the Africa and speak Carib language but have maintained the African music and religious traditions alive. Tobacco Caye is small reef and tourists have to hire a boat taxi to reach the reef which covers an area of 183 meters (600 feet) long and 91 meters (300 feet) wide is one of the World Heritage Islet in Belize. Tobacco Caye is renowned for snorkeling, diving, fishing, and other water activities.

Rosalie’s Tortilla Factory is situated on the outskirts of the Dangriga and tourists can view the corn and flour tortillas being made and best time to visit the factory is from 9 am to noon.
