Exuma is one of the districts of Bahamas including Great Exuma Island which measures length of 60 km, connected by bridge with Little Exuma Island. It includes more than 360 islands with an area of 250 km². George Town is the seat and largest city of Exuma situated on the island of Great Exuma which was formed in 1793.

Exuma is placed between 25°4′ N latitude and 77°20′ W longitude.

 

History of Exuma:

The history of Exuma dates back to 1783, when the American loyalists migrated to Exuma with the cotton plantation economy. John Rolle, 1st Baron Rolle was the major name of Exuma’s history and following his death in 1842, most of the towns of Exuma were named in the honor of him such as Rolleville and Rolletown.
