History of Schaffhausen:

Schaffhausen was the popular city since Middle Ages and in 1208, it was the imperial free city. During the 15th century the city was ruled by Habsburg Duke and the region was damaged during the Thirty Year’s War by Swedish and Bavarian troops. Schaffhausen became popular after the establishment of industries in the 19th century.
