History of Achinsk:

Achinsk was settled around 28,000-20,000 BCE and known as one of the oldest inhabited location in the region. Achinsk was officially established in the year 1641 on Bely Iyus River and later the town was relocated on to the banks of River Chulyrn. In the year 1683, first castle was constructed in the region and granted the status of town in the year 1782. The name of the city was derived from Turkic tribe group, Achi or Achigi and in the year 1990, it became the city.
