Pauk is sited on the Asian continent towards the west of the Myanmar in Magway Region under Pakokku district. Magway Region was previously known as Magway Division is situated on the banks of Kyaw River and The Yaw River flows on the east side of Pauk Town. Pauk town forms the center of administration of Pakokku District. Pauk is situated at a distance of 345 km from the capital city, Naypyidaw. The geographical coordinates puts the place at 21⁰27’ N and 94⁰28’ E.
