Nanjing is sited on the Asian continent in the southeast region of the country, China. This place is located in the Jiangsu province and forms the center of administration for Jiangsu province. Nanchang is 20 meters (50 feet) above sea level and the geographical coordinates puts Nanjing at 32.0500° N, 118.7667° E. Nanjing spans over an area of 6,598 km2. During summer season the average temperature is 430C and in winter temperature drops to -100C.

 

History of Nanjing:

Nanjing was one of the ancient cities in China, which was established by Lord of the State of Wu around 495 BCE and later was captured by State of Yue and built the fort Yuecheng and during the rule of Qin and Han dynasties the region was named as Moling.

In 229 CE it became the capital of the Wu kingdom but later was captured by Jin Dynasty in 280 and developed as the commercial, cultural and political centers in China. Nanjing was ruled by Sui and Yuan Dynasty later.

In the year 1368, Nanjing was renovated and made the capital of Ming Dyansty under the Zhu Yuanzhang emperor and built the historical wall called as City Wall of Nanjing, it took nearly 21 year to finish the wall and remained the capital of the Ming dynasty until the year 1421 and the region flourished.

Chaotian Palace:

Chaotian Palace is sited at the distance of 6 kms from center of the city which was built as the imperial palace during the Ming Rule but at present this palace serves as Nanjing Municipal Museum.

 

City Wall of Nanjing:

Nanjing wall was constructed by Ming Dynasty to protect the region from enemies and took nearly 21 years to complete the wall.
