History of Montana:

Montana was first populated by indigenous people 1,000 years ago and later the territory was encountered by the European settlers. From the year 1850, white settlers began to settle in the region until 1870s and in the year 1866, first U.S Army post was established in the year 1866 on the Missouri River named as Camp Cooke and a dispute between Native American and whites increased due the discovery of gold in several parts of Montana. Rail link was established in the state in the year 1881 and after the World War I depression began in the state until the Second World War.
