The natural beauty of this place is still clean by the fact that the beach does not contain the gaudy resorts and hotels nearby. Most of them are to be found up the beach, close to the towns. The beach itself is calm and the tourists keep the same, all prefer to enjoy the tranquility of the calm waters in great consideration. The beach later joins with the Calangute, which is a well-known beach. The foremost attraction is Fort Agunda, which was built in the 16th century, at the time of the Portuguese settlements being established. In fact the Calangute and the Candolim beaches flank it on both sides, and tourists move to this famous fort visiting any of the beaches. And view of the sea from top of this famous fort is merely breadth taking. Or head straight for the Quincy, popular for its rendition for local Goan music, but which will transport you to the Caribbean’s.

Access:

A KTC bus ride from the nearest town Mapusa or the Panjim would lead you to this place. As soon as you enter the place then hire a motorbike from the natives to roam around to explore the island. You are also provided with the cabs that will take to different places or also the airport. Henceforth a visit to this beach will never let you to loose your money, as you would experience your best days.

How to Reach Candolim Beach

One can reach Candolim by air. One reaching Dabolim airport, hire a cab to reach the beach which is just 46 kms away from the airport. If you go by train then you will have to reach Thivim Railway Station. From here take a cab to reach the beach which is around 2 kms away. There are direct buses from Panaji Bus Station. From Panaji is 12kms away from Candolim beach.

  • Chapel of St. Lawrence

    This beautiful Chapel lies on the shore of Agauda bay. Each year in the month of August there is a huge festival celebrated here in the Chapel. If possible be a part of it. Otherwise its a beautiful place which can be captured on camera.

  • Aguada Fort

    Constructed by Portuguese in 1912; this fort is one of the biggest attractions. This fort is surrounded by Aguada Jail, church and a lighthouse. Its well know place of its natural beauty and history. Towards the North side of the fort one can see Calangute and candolim beaches.

  • Candolim Church

    It’s a beautiful church with stained glasswork, ages old architectural design and paddies streached out to the Periline. Walk a few miles to reach the beautiful mansion called Placio Aguada.
