Volta Region is one of the administrative regions of Ghana, positioned between the Lake Volta in Ghana and the Republic of Togo. Ho is the capital, Ewe people are the dominated ethic group and Ewe language is a widely spoken language in the region. Volta Region comprises of 25 districts, covering a total area of 20,570 sq. km and is geographically positioned between 7°00′ N latitude and 0°30′ E longitude. History of Volta Region:

Volta Region was the part the German controlled ‘Togoland’ from 1884 to 1914 and following the defeat of Germany in World War I, it became the part of British Togoland and remained until the independence of Ghana. Its capital, Ho, has been serving the region as since the British Togoland.
