History of Taurage:

The name of Taurage is a combination of two Lithuanian words, “Tauras” meaning aurochs and “Ragas” meaning horn. Once the city of Taurage was damaged by a fire in the year 1836 and once again during World War I, Taurage lost its infrastructure by the attack of German troops.
