Shekhawati is a semi desert in Rajasthan, India positioned in the enclosed triangle between Jaipur, Delhi and Bikaner on the northern section of Rajasthan. The township of shekhawati is known for its magnificent canvassed havelis. So diverse and structurally splendid are the havelis that this province is branded as the “open art galleria of Rajasthan”.

History of Shekhawati

Shekhawati was recognized as a part of the Matsya Territory.  Initially the province was a mixture of democratic states called as Janpadas. Janpadas advanced under the rule of Aryans. After the downfall of Gupta Empire, the Shekhawati Rajputs took over this region. After the independence with the assent it joined the union of India.

Sikar

Sikar is a significant province positioned in the neighborhood of Shekhawati. The major land marks of this township are Sanganeria Haveli, Mirijamal Kyala Haveli, Sawant Ram Chokhani Haveli, Bansidhar Rathi Haveli and Kedia Haveli.

Churu

Churu is a locality identified for its havelis and fortifications raised in the ethnical Rajasthani structural design. Dundlod

Dundlod is a minor civic in the Jhunjhunu District and a fragment of the Shekhawati province. This civic is eminent for the strongholds and havelis that date back to the 18th century. The Dundlod Citadel was constructed in 16th century by the Rawal Ruler and is one of the major magnetisms in the civic. This fortress has been converted into a heritage hotel.

 

Castle Mandawa

Mandawa is an isolated mediaeval territory in the heart of the Shekhawati province. It used to be a transaction base for the earliest convoy courses that stopover here from Central East. A fortification was constructed encircling this spot by Thakur Nawal Singh the then Rajput sovereign in the year 1755. The settlement that developed round the citadel rapidly appealed to a huge civic of merchants. It had become abode to the merchants.

Nawalgarh

Nawalgarh is a region established in the 18th century by Thakur Nawal Singh. The Anandi Lal Poddar Haveli which is the prominent landmark here was constructed in the year 1920 and The Bala Kila Fort is identified for landscapes on its fortification describing the local accounts.
