Teseney is a town located in the western part of the Eastern African country, Eritrea, near the border of Sudan. It is originally a market town, where trade fairs take place occasionally and also the main square of the town is filled with cafés, bars and both modern and traditional shops with a wide range of items. Teseney is situated in the proximity of Gash-Setit Wildlife Reserve, around 120 km west of Barentu and 250 km west of Asmara, the capital of Eritrea.

Teseney is geographically positioned between 15°06′36″ N latitude and 36°39′27″ E longitude, lying around 910 meters above sea level.

History of Teseney:

As like the rest of Eritrea, Teseney had seen many developments during the Italian Eritrea but which were destroyed by repeated bombings during the Eritrean War of Independence. Now the town has been gradually developing towards regaining its glory.

How to reach Teseney?

There is no major airport in and around Teseney, so international tourists are needed to reach the Asmara International Airport, where taxis are always being ready to serve visitors and also visitors can use buses running between Teseney and Asmara.
