Pulau Perhentian Islands are group of islands located approx 19 kms from north east coast of Malaysia in the state of Terengannu known for beautiful islands and beaches. The islands have white sandy beaches and are rich in coral and marine life. The islands have many water creatures like jelly fish, starfish, sea turtles, reel fish and sharks. Any kind of fishing, collecting corals and littering are strictly prohibited in the islands. The word Perhentian is derived from Malay word which means stopping point as the islands was the main gateways for traders between Bangkok and Malaysia.
