Bird Island is one of the islands forming the island country, Seychelles, in the Indian Ocean. The island is spread over an area of 0.70 km², mainly noted for diverse bird population, including fairy terns, common noddie and sooty terns. Bird Island is located around 60 miles away from Mahe Island in Seychelles and is home to a small airport and private resort with 26 bungalows.

Formerly called Ile aux Vaches, Bird Island is famous among visitors for bird watching, for which from March to October is the best time. The island is developed with the main objective of the preservation of birdlife and Hawksbill Turtle nesting sites. Bird Island is geographically positioned between 3°43′ S latitude and 55°12′ E longitude.

Bird Island holds an airport with charter flights from Mahé Island, served by Air Seychelles. The country’s prime airport, the Seychelles International Airport, is situated around 60 miles away from Bird Island and operates scheduled flights from and to Colombo, Dubai, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Mauritius, Paris Praslin, Frankfurt, Abu Dhabi and Nairobi.

Bird Island is small, can easily be explored by foot and for easy exploration of the island, visitors can hire a guided tour.

Mahe Island is the most important island in Seychelles, situated around 60 miles away from Bird Island. The island is home to the capital, Victoria and the most famous beach in Seychelles, Beau Vallon. Mahe Island is connected to Bird Island by charter flight service, catered by Air Seychelles.
