Balzan is a colorful village located on the Malta Island in the country of Malta, around 8 km west of the country capital, Valletta. The Church of Balzan is the historic symbol of Balzan.

 

Geography of Balzan:

Balzan shares its borders with the villages like Birkirkara, Attard, Lija, Iklin covering an area of 0.6 sq. km. It is geographically positioned between 35°53′53″ N 14°27′12″ E latitude at an elevation of 56 meters.

 

Etymology of Balzan:

Most of Maltese villages including Attard and Lija were derived their name from the local families, and especially Balzan probably takes its name from a Sicilian family, called Balzan or Balzano.

As like all Maltese settlements, Balzan is served by the Malta International Airport which is located about 8 km away from Balzan.
