Baku is the capital city of Azerbaijan. It is also the biggest city in Caucasus region. It is positioned on the south basin of the Absheron isthmus. The city has two main sections such as the Old Inner City and the Downtown. The title Baku is alleged to be instigated from the ancient Persian title of the city Bad-Kube which literally means “Wind walloped city”. The bad literally means “Wind” and kube that has been extracted from the word kubidan literally means “walloping” and thus brings out the meaning a spot where the air is powerful and walloping. Baku is the foremost harbor that serves Azerbaijan. Baku Museum of Modern Art

Baku Museum of Modern Art was commenced by the First Lady of Azerbaijan. The museum holds diverse articles in it. National Museum of History of Azerbaijan

The museum houses several expositions and has been divided into the sections such as Modern history, ancient and medieval history of Azerbaijan, Ethnography, Laboratory for restoration of museum exhibits, Art design group, bibliotheca and scientific excursion.
