Wuhan is sited on the Asian continent in the central region of China positioned in the Hubei province and is the capital of this province. Economy of Wuhan depends on industries and IT companies located in the city. The geographical coordinates puts the place at 30.5725° N, 114.2792° E and spans over an area of 8,495 km2. The place is 37 meters (121 feet) above sea level is bounded by Jiujiang, Changsha, Anqing, Xiangyang, Shiyan, Yichang and Hefei.


History of Wuhan:

According to Archeologists, Wuhan was inhabited 6,500 years ago. In the 11th century, the Zhou dynasty ruled Wuhan. During the period from 221 to 206 B.C the Qin dynasty ruled the entire Wuhan and the capital of Wuhan was then Jianyang. Wuhan was ruled by the Han dynasty in 202 B.C. The Wuhan city wall took four years to complete. A Buddhist monk who visited India in the 7th century translated scriptures from Sanskrit to Chinese language. These scriptures were then stored in the Great Wild Goose Pagoda which was built in 652. In 904, the Tang dynasty invaded and destroyed Wuhan. Later in 1370, the Ming dynasty ruled Wuhan and developments took shape under their administration. In 1936, the people of Wuhan united and fought with the invading Japanese forces. Later after Second World War the place saw various establishments taking place.
