Zug is the capital of Zug canton in Switzerland and spans an area of 21.61 square kilometers (8.34 square miles) and situated at an elevation of 425 meters (1,394 feet) above the sea level. Zug is situated at the distance of 35 kilometers from Zurich city and 140 kilometers from Bern, capital of Switzerland and surrounded by Cham, Baar, Allenwinden, Unterageri, Walchwil, Immensee, Holzhausern, Steinhausen and Risch. History of Zug:

Zug is one of the oldest settlements in the world on the banks of Zug Lake and Alemannic families and tribes immigrated around 600 AD to Zug region. First church was constructed during the Middle Ages and during the medieval times the wall was erected in the town around 1200. Later the town came into the hands of Habsburgs and they constructed buildings and other monuments in the town and it became one of the popular markets in the country. Later in the 19th century, agriculture was the prominent form of living but today the town is home to some of the renowned countries in the world.
