History of Tenerife:

Tenerife was inhabited by Guanches tribes during 200 BC and King of Spain ordered to capture the island in the year 1493 but was captured in 1494 and due to the population growth in the island the forests were steadily reduced. Farming was the main form of living in island for several centuries and later the island maintained relationship with Latin America and British invaded the island in the year 1797. Santa Cruz Tenerife was the capital of Canary Islands between 1833 and 1927 and tourism industry began to establish from 1890.
