Singapore was part of Johor Sultanate between 16^th and 19^th century followed by Portuguese rule in the year 1613 A.D. The British landed in Singapore in 1824 and were ruling the place until 1945 when it was attacked by Japanese Army forces. But again the British repossessed Singapore in the same year after defeating the Japanese forces until in the year 1963 when Singapore attained its freedom from British rule.
