San Fernando is the capital city of the Colchagua province in Chile belonging to O’Higgins region, situated around 135 km south of the national capital, Santiago. It is situated in the centre of the country renowned for rodeos and productions of wheat, legumes, grapes and San Fernando wine.

San Fernando is placed in the vicinity of the Tinguiririca River between 34°35′ S latitude and 70°59′ W longitude at an elevation of 339 meters with a total area of 2,441.3 sq. km. The Pan-American Highway passes through San Fernando.

History of San Fernando:

San Fernando was founded by José Antonio Manso de Velasco in the year 1742 and in 1840 it was declared the capital of Colchagua province.
