History of Kaadedhdhoo:

Gaffu Dhaalu Atoll is also called as Huvadu Atoll and this island was Independent Island and self governed by the chief of this region did not allowed to host the flag of other Maldives region. Huvadhu, Fuvahmulah and Addu islands formed the United Suvadive Republic in the year 1959 and it continued till the year 1963. Later in the year 1963 populace of other island started to oppose the Suvadive and in the year 1962 the entire region was burnt by the soldiers sent by I Ibrahim Nasir, Prime Minister.
