Baiersbronn is a municipality belonging to the district of Freudenstadt in the state of Baden-Württemberg in Germany. It is situated 95 km southwest of the state capital, Stuttgart and 720 km southwest of the national capital, Berlin. Baiersbronn is especially noted for its world class award winning restaurants.

Baiersbronn is located in the Black Forest on the banks of River Murg in southern Germany at 48°30′21″ N 8°22′16″ E at an elevation of 584 meters. Baiersbronn spans over an area of 189.70 sq. km.

Baiersbronn is made up of 9 villages namely Friedrichstal, Mitteltal, Baiersbronn, Tonbach, Huzenbach, Klosterreichenbach, Schönmünzach-Schwarzenberg, Röt-Schönegründ and Obertal.


History of Baiersbronn:

The municipality of Baiersbronn was established in the 1960s and upgraded in 1970s by merging other five municipalities.


How to reach Baiersbronn?

Baden Airpark (about 60 km) is the closest airport to Baiersbronn but it has limited connectivity, so it is advised for international tourists to reach Stuttgart Airport (around 90 km) first and then take taxi or bus from there to Baiersbronn.

Murg River is a tributary of the Rhine River, which originates in Obertal in Baiersbronn and flows across approximate length of 79.267 km. The river has a basin area of 617 square kilometers and its tributaries are Tonbach and Forbach.
