Omsk is city in southern part of Russia and the administrative hub of Omsk Oblast Federal subject. Omsk shares the border with Kazakhstan and the River Irtysh flows through the city and lies at altitude of 87 meters (285 feet) above the sea level. History of Omsk:

Omsk was recognized after the establishment of wooden fort in the year 1716 and in the year 1782, the village was granted the status of town. After becoming the administrative capital of Western Siberia in the year 1822, number of churches, mosque and other buildings were built in the town and city development was boomed after the establishment of Trans-Siberian railway lines to the city and many trading companies were established in the town.
