History of Khanna:
The world Khanna means one quarter, it was named as Khanna because it is very small compared to other cities in Punjab. Khanna was colonized 500 years back and Sher Shah Suri constructed number of sarais (inns) from Delhi to Lahore and one of the sarais is found in Khanna city. Later, after the fall of Mughal rule in Punjab, the region was occupied by Banda Bahadur from Sirhind to Hoshiarpur.
