Kasane is a town in the African country Botswana, located close to the border where the four African countries Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe meet together. It is the seat of the Chobe District, situated around 930 km north of Gaborone, the capital and largest city of Botswana. Kasane is home to the branches of many multinational banks like Standard Chartered Bank, First National Bank and Barclays Bank.

Kasane is a tourist favor town receiving a large number of tourists, mainly for Chobe National Park which features the Chobe River, Chobe Crocodile Farm and many other natural tourist attractions and is facilitated by campsites and lodges. The geographical coordinates of Kasane are 17°49′ S latitude and 025°09′ E longitude.

History of Kasane:

Once in 1975, Kasane gained the attention of the world as a venue of the remarriage of the illustrious Hollywood actress Elizabeth Taylor to Richard Burton.

Connectivity to Kasane:

Kasane hosts an international airport, situated around 7 km away from the heart of the town and the airport operates flights from and to Gaborone, Johannesburg, Maun, served by Air Botswana and Airlink.

Through roadway, Kasane is connected to all the major cities of the country including Francistown, Maun, and Gaborone.

There is no public transportation to move within Kasane but one can rent car at the town centre and request at their hotel to arrange vehicle.

Chobe National Park:

Following the Central Kalahari Game Reserve and the Gemsbok National Park, the Chobe National Park is the Botswana’s 3^rd largest park spreading over an area of 11,700km². Established in 1967, the park is popular for its rich ecosystem and also equally known for elephant population, around 50,000 elephants, making it the highest elephant reserve of Africa.

CARACAL Biodiversity Center:

The CARACAL Biodiversity Center is situated at Plot 3102 Airport Road in Kasane. It functions as a refuge for endangered animal and bird species in the region including snakes. It is worth a visit.

Chobe River:

The Chobe River flows through Angola and Caprivi Strip in Namibia and the river is famous among visitors for boat trips arranged by Chobe Safari Lodge in Kasane.

Chobe Crocodile Farm:
