Gunsan is a city in North Jeolla in South Korea situated on the banks of River Geum, towards the south western part of South Korea. Gunsan houses the Kunsan Air Base of the U.S Air Force and economy of the city depends on trading and various small scale industries located in and around the city. Gunsan is surrounded by Seocheon, Iksan, Gimje, Jeonju, Seonyudo and Nonsan and it is located at the distance of 190 Kms from the capital of South Korea, Seoul and coordinates are 35.9833° N, 126.7167° E.

 

History of Gunsan:

Gunsan was the small village on the banks of River Geum and land was fertile and populace use to grow rice and in 19th century it became the trading route to Japanese.
