History of Brno:

Brno is one of the oldest settled regions in the Europe and historians have discovered the artifacts from the prehistoric times. During the 11th century castle was constructed in the region by the House of Premyslid and later became the hub of Moravia, Olomouc and Znojmo. Until the 17th century, the region was ruled by various dynasties and played a major role during the rule of Znojmo and Swedish tired to capture the region but were unsuccessful and Brno was the sole capital after the Thirty Year’s War.
