Dausa popularly called as ‘Dev Nagari’ is a city and the administrative headquarter of Dausa District in the Indian State of Rajasthan. It is located about 59 kms east of state capital Jaipur and about 259 km southwest of national capital Delhi.

Dausa is positioned between latitude 26.88° in the north and longitude 76.33°E in the east and is placed at an elevation of 327 meters. Dausa District occupies an area of 2950 km² and is surrounded by Alwar district to the north, Jaipur district in the west, Bharatpur district on the east, Karauli district towards southeast and Sawai Madhopur district to the northwest.

Sawa and Ban Ganga are the major rivers flow through Dausa District. Agriculture is the major economy source of locals and the farmers highly grow groundnuts wheat, bajra, rapeseed and mustard.

History and Culture of Dausa:-

Dausa derives its name from the presence of Devgiri Hills. Badgujar Kings were the original rulers of Dausa and the city also witnessed the rule of Chauhans Kings, Kachwahas Empire and Mughal Empire during 15th century. Dausa was formed as a district on 10 April 1991.
