History of Poznan:

Poznan was main cultural and political hub of the Polan tribe and later various churches and monuments were constructed in the city. In the year 1249, Duke Przemysl constructed the Royal Castle in the city and during 17th and 18th centuries the region suffered from war and fire. Poznan city prospered under the rule of Russia and Germany.
