Imbabura is one of the provinces of Ecuador geographically located between 0°21′ N latitude and 78°08′ W longitude covering an area of 4,616 sq. km. Ibarra is the capital of the province placed on the banks of Tahuando River. Imbabura is home to Imbabura Volcano which is a 4,609-meter-high mountain and it can be reached from La Esperanza town.
