In the year 1767, kingdom of Ayutthaya was destroyed by the Burmese Kingdom and the king Taksin established the new capital at Thonburi and later moved their kingdom to the present capital Bangkok by King Rama I.

Thailand is the only country which was not colonized by foreign rule and during the Second World War; Japan captured the rest of the Southeast Asia except Thailand.
