History of Nis:

According to the archeological evidences, Nis is one of the oldest cities of Europe. During the Scordisci settlement in Nis around 75 BC, it was called Navissos and later the Romans occupied it and established a road named Via Militaris from Belgrade, passing through Nis. Nis was the birth place of the Roman Emperor, Constantine the Great.

Nis is located around 245 km southeast of Belgrade, the capital of Serbia.
