History of Ho Chi Minh City:

Ho Chi Minh City was the small fishing village and was identified as Prey Nokor and the region was inhabited by Khmer populace for centuries before Vietnamese.

In 17^th century, Vietnamese refugees started to settle in Prey Nokor region and in the year 1623, Chey Chettha II King of Cambodia allowed to settle Vietnamese in the region as years passed Vietnamese occupied the region and Cambodian king lost his control over the region.

In the year 1859, French established their colonies in the city and constructed various western style buildings and in the year 1945, Vietnamese initiated the Communist revolution against the French which was led by Ho Chi Minh Emperor and in the year 1975, city came under the control of Vietnamese Army.
