Leuven is situated in the Flemish Brabant Province in the region of Flemish in Belgium. History of Leuven:

Leuven was ruled by Frankish King and Battle of Leuven was fought between Frankish King and Viking Army and in the battle many soldiers were killed and the battle was won by the Frankish King. Due to its location on the banks of the river, Leuven became the major trading center during the rule of Dukes of Brabant between 11th and 14th centuries and later in 14th century cloth manufacture was the major source of income in the region. During the World War I and II, the city was destroyed by the German Soldiers but after the world war the region came under the rule of British.
